LAMP LIGHTNING EVENT
The Lamp Lighting Ceremony of the II Batch ZENOVACT B.Sc. Nursing students of Coimbatore College of Nursing was held with dignity and enthusiasm on 20th April 2026. The programme commenced with a graceful procession and prayer song, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the Kuthuvizhakku and welcome address by Prof. S. Muthulakshmi, Principal, Coimbatore College of Nursing. The programme was graced by Dr. S. Mohan, Chairperson, Principal, Coimbatore College of Pharmacy, symbolizing the beginning of a noble nursing journey. The dignitaries delivered inspiring addresses, emphasizing compassion, ethical practice, professionalism, continuous learning, and dedicated service to humanity. The traditional Lamp Lighting and Nightingale Pledge marked the most significant moments, reaffirming the students’ commitment to the values and ideals of nursing. The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Sonia Das, M.Sc(N), Ph.D(N), Principal, KG College of Nursing, Coimbatore, as the Chief Guest, and Smt. Tamilselvi, Nursing Superintendent Grade–I, Government Medical College & ESI Hospital, Singanallur, Coimbatore, as the Guest of Honour. motivated the budding nurses through her inspiring message on Attitude, Skill, Knowledge, Trustworthiness, Talent, and Time. Overall, the ceremony was successfully conducted in a dignified and disciplined manner, inspiring the students to embrace nursing as a profession of compassion, care, commitment, and selfless service.
