Guidance and Counselling Cell

The Guidance and Counseling cell of AMC College of Nursing helps students successfully navigate nursing college while balancing the personal, familial and many other demands of life.

The Guidance and Counseling committee’s mission is to promote student success and general well-being. One way we aim to meet this goal is by providing brief individual and group counseling to College of Nursing students. Our guidance and counseling committee work exclusively with nursing students, and therefore understand the unique needs of this population.

Through the counseling process, students can receive support, guidance, encouragement and assistance in connecting to other beneficial campus resources. Occasionally, we refer students to supportive services in the hospital for long-term counseling or pharmacological intervention.

The counselor will sit down with the student and go over individual test questions to determine what went wrong in each instance. Conducting a test review is a great way to identify areas in which a student might need added support, such as improvement in study or note taking skills. If test-taking anxiety is identified as an issue, we offer suggestions.
